There are many reasons you might be thinking about starting counseling. Maybe something crazy happened or maybe you realized you haven’t been yourself lately. No matter what has led you to this place, I am ready to jump in with you and help you figure it out.
Most of us experience feelings of anxiety and depression from time to time. It’s a normal response to a lot of life’s challenges. But if it seems like more than just a season, maybe there’s something deeper going on. One of my favorite things is helping people to go beyond just coping and working to heal whatever is underneath the anxiety and depression.
I have been practicing since 2011, and my experience is both deep and broad. I have worked with adults, teenagers, and couples. I have worked with those struggling with anxiety and depression, OCD, ADHD, ASD, bipolar, and severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia. I have also worked with those struggling with addictions, both substances and behavioral addictions such as pornography. In working with clients with all of these challenges over the years, I have realized that a lot of them go back to trauma.
Trauma is my jam. That word may sound like a lot, but we all have our traumas. It may be that you have an experience that definitely screams trauma, or it may be that your second-grade teacher called you dumb and you have never forgotten it. The thing is, no matter how severe the trauma, it impacts everything. Our traumas, big or small, impact our understanding of ourselves, others, and God. The way we feel in the world is just different.
The great thing is that there is healing. These experiences don’t have to continue to color your world or hinder your relationships. If you are ready to give healing a try, let’s get something scheduled.
